You guys are making my head hurt just talking about prices like these. It'll only be a few years from now that a new Dmax will cost more than my house did when I bought it.
That....is....insane.

We just bought a 2016 Tahoe LTZ, stickered for 72K. We 'only' paid 64K for it though. :beer

...utterly ridiculous price but we're planning on keeping her around for awhile. By the time we need a new one they'll probably be pushing 100K.

I've sold cars/trucks at a dealer for years and as an F&I manager so kind of know what I'm talking about having booked out vehicles many many times. Regions don't make a huge difference for the most part, in 53001 (WI) a denali duramax highly equipped with that many miles books for around 50k. Less than that if in VERY GOOD instead of EXCELLENT condition.

To suggest they sell for 59k as an implied norm? LOL!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE a '16 but not a '15, or at least they shouldn't. Of course I've sold trucks for way more than they should go for many times, but a fair price isn't anywhere near 59k. 52K is way too much for the '15 in this thread. What you got for your trade is good, but here's the catch, most dealers know to make it look like you're getting a lot more for your trade while hiding money in what you're buying plus making money in finance &c. It is what they are showing they are 'giving' you for the most part and aren't actually putting that much into it. :hello: :thumb:

Kinda hard to hide any price adjustment when you only pay 59k for a 68k truck...:D

See? It works! :woott: ;)

Where did they hide it? My 15 had a destroyed rear bumper and needed the front bumper repainted bc someone hit it not to mention it had been rebuilt from the front doors forward due to being hit at a job site. Dealer knew all of this, said I would have gotten 52,500 if it's history had not been so checkered, lol. My 15 lived a hard life, I'm working on a new work/drag truck at the moment to take the heat off my 16...

Did you work for that dealership? You said in another thread that you worked for one, so that's a completely different scenario of offer than a guy off the street. Apples and oranges. Your build sounds exciting, share some pics. :thumb:

OP, go to your bank. take in vin number and see what they value the truck at. my 2015 was over 60k according to the bank stock value when i sold it. if they only value it at 45-48k. you know 52k isnt good then.

They already cost more than what I paid for my first house, the only difference is they go down in value whereas my house had doubled when I sold it :D funny how that works

I just ask myself is it worth making a second mortgage payment on something that's going to lose you money in theong run just to have the latest and greatest... No I drive a 15 year old paid off truck that's faster than the latest and greatest and I have zero debt. As much as id love to throw down 50 or even 60k on a new truck, from a financial standpoint it literally makes no sense.
