I have a chance to buy a 2015 lifted D Max SLT. It has only 23,000
Miles on it. But Warranty is gone because its deleted. Asking price is 52000$.
Anybody have any suggestions. Good Deal/Bad Deal

So they can't deny any other Motor problems besides emissions? Do you think I should play and have them lower the price because of voided warranty? And yes the Truck is super clean. Not beat up at all. Tokyo tires but no running boards

Unless there is a major failure the dealers will look the other way the majority of the time. I had several small things done under warranty on my 15.

You took it back to the same dealer you bought it from and it never had the warranty voided correct?

OP if the warranty is voided by the factory, it's done... A friend of mine bought an 11, turned up the torsion bars and put bigger tires on it, added an edge CTS MONITOR only and the dealer up here voided his warranty. He had to get into a giant yelling match with the service manager to get it back. Still took calling GM and explaining the CTS half dozen times before they reinstated it. Service manager had sent gm a note saying the truck was lifted and tuned...

To little information to gamble $52,000.00 dollars on, the first problem you have engine or transmission wise you'll know how good of a deal it is or was. The engine and transmission would not be covered and like all warranty situations the dealer has more time and money than most of us do.

Second, I was perusing the EPA website and it is my understanding GM (or any manufacturer) and the dealer has no choice but to void the warranty as the truck is no longer an emmisions compliant vehicle operated on a federal highway and state, city road. Is it enforced, no, can you be kept from driving it, yes if it does not pass emissions and cannot be registered.....

I would never pay 52k for a used truck. They brought 56k brand new back in 2015.... my 16 was actually less than 52k but it's a special deal, so it's a mute point.

My rig is 2015 LTZ crew with same miles in very good condition. Sticker was 60k and change. 52k is at least 4k too high. Book it out on KBB.com. I wouldn't give more than 44k without a warranty.

No, I take it to my local dealer, I used to buy at another dealer and have the local one service. They have never said a word, just perform the repairs and get me out the door. I did buy my 16 from them, but it is staying stock. I have never heard of a single denial here except for trans issues or a hole in the block. I saw them drop a new short block in an lbz with 70k of ppe tuning on the clock. May be we are just lucky. As for the price in NC thats a fair price if GM didnt flag the vin...

a 2015 denali with 38k miles sold here for 59 few weeks ago. thats normal prices here as well. A new denali is mid 60s here. sticker is over 70.

I could see MAYBE a '16 going for that, but not a '15, especially with 38,XXX on it.

A '15 doesn't show hitting near 59k sale price in your region with 38,XXX on it. Someone got screwed if your story is right and 59k for that truck isn't normal.

Its funny how guys who have nevered owned or sold one know more about it than the guys who have owned several...;)

Prices are diffrent all across the country and has anyone reading this actually had warranty voided? Lol...

And I traded my 15 in with 53k on it to the dealer and got 49,750 for it...:D

I've sold cars/trucks at a dealer for years and as an F&I manager so kind of know what I'm talking about having booked out vehicles many many times. Regions don't make a huge difference for the most part, in 53001 (WI) a denali duramax highly equipped with that many miles books for around 50k. Less than that if in VERY GOOD instead of EXCELLENT condition.

To suggest they sell for 59k as an implied norm? LOL!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE a '16 but not a '15, or at least they shouldn't. Of course I've sold trucks for way more than they should go for many times, but a fair price isn't anywhere near 59k. 52K is way too much for the '15 in this thread. What you got for your trade is good, but here's the catch, most dealers know to make it look like you're getting a lot more for your trade while hiding money in what you're buying plus making money in finance &c. It is what they are showing they are 'giving' you for the most part and aren't actually putting that much into it. :hello: :thumb:

heres my truck with the other denali that sold for 59k. not saying these numbers are right. because i dont agree with any truck being worth 60-70k but thats what they go for here.

You guys are making my head hurt just talking about prices like these. It'll only be a few years from now that a new Dmax will cost more than my house did when I bought it.
That....is....insane.

Then I'd be buying mine elsewhere, a quick search shows they go for much cheaper than that price. My truck, 2015 Crew Cab LTZ with 23,XXX miles would sell for around 47-49k here. GMC's aren't much more than that in the Denali.

I used to sell many vehicles for much more than they were worth and quite often. I got out of that crooked business though.
