Anyone else see that the chevy had 3.73s and ford had 4.30s......

Well its a 15 ford which has the new turbo, bigger pump and injectors but still people don't realize how muxh gearing helps
Makes me think I should've put in 4.56 gears instead of 4.11 does the ford run a larger tire dia then the chevy? 4.30 gears seem pretty steep on 32" tall tires
Oh well, makes me wonder what rpm the ford tach's at on the freeway at 70mph though?
Yes they have always run a larger tire factory

That F-350 probably sucks with 4.30's anyways. The fuel economy will be shit and the thing will be screaming on the highway.
not THAT much larger....
the gearing advantage that the Ford has is ridiculous. Its no surprise that the Ford beat the pants off the GM! Make it a fair contest (get a Ford with 3.73's) and THEN redo the race.

Just curious but why will the next new Duramax not be a joined effort as in the past?
I think 2016 is when the next round of EPA emissions changes comes about. But beyond that I dont really know.
So within the next 2 years we will see an "all new duramax" (as in, something that no longer shares any 6.6 Isuzu heritage), and most likely an all new Allison to go along with it.
Why do they need to? They've already learned everything they need to know about how to make a good diesel engine from Isuzu....so why spend the cost and effort to outsource it.
