Back when I started my LGH and 6L90E project into my 69 C-10, nobody would tell me that the trans could be built to handle 650 to 700 hp. with maybe 1250 lbs of torque. Of course that was 6 years or so ago, so maybe somebody can now. A few months ago, I saw a near stock LB7 4WD truck with a 4L80E running in the fives. Not having to use my Allison would have saved me a lot of weight and a lot less cutting and fab work and a trans tunnel that wouldn't be so massive. I still have the 6L90E if you need it. Good luck on your project .

Seems to still kind of be that way. 6l90e from what I can tell is either guys love em or they absolutely hate them. One thing I've got going for me is the car is lighter then a truck so that helps a bit.
I'm not one to ever leave a project alone as you can tell by this thread lol, so some trial and error on the 6l90e will be kinda fun.

Are you located in Canada? If so pm me about trans I may need it someday.

I am in NC. I'm curious as to what kind of power you intend on making, and if the 6L90E is bigger than the 4L80E. My pickup weighs 4760 with a half tank of fuel and is a shortbed half ton. I will post some pics if I can figure it out.

Stock power for now, get the trans dialed in then go up from there. I've been told ill need a billet intermediate shaft and trans tuning/torque managment is very important.

I had the 6l laying beside the 4l before I sold it. its bigger but not huge. I didn't take measurements. Definetely longer.

I believe my car is 3800 ish with the stock motor, not sure never actually weighed it.

Cleaned up engine bay and dyna matted the firewall and Trans tunnel.

Trying to keep busy while I locate some engine parts. Pulled the lml apart to replace head gaskets and sure enough 4 cracked pistons. My luck lol. I've got a good set of lmm pistons and rods so I think ill re ring those and put them in with new bearings. Only problem there is having a hard time finding rod bearings thanks to the ronas.

I basically had my 6l80 converted to 6l90 and I beat the crap out of it daily on heavy ass 22's and 33' mud tires on my regular cab. When built right the 6L series is stout, it took over 600rwhp and 2 years of constant abuse before my stock 6l80 and converter gave up. I'd run a 6l90 for weight savings and the shift quality, plus tuning is easier for a camero I would thnk.

Thats awesome to here! Who did your trans work? I won't beleive that the 6l90 can't be made into a strong trans. Its still pretty new. I bet 10 tears from now it'll be the new 4l80, or maybe I'm wrong im not super knowledgeable on transmissions but I can dream hahaha

Thanks its nice to hear people actually having good luck with them.

Little update since I'm bored. Should be installing the subframe but its cold and I'm lazy. So I mocked it up just to see how it fits with the motor and boy am I happy with it.

Was looking at the engine bay before getting to installing the subframe, and I thought to myself boy that sure could use some tlc.

So this weekend I've been engine bay detailing. Cleaned up the wires, added some fresh paint. And tied everything up so it is better the new.

Looking good. I would kick myself everyday if I had and engine out and didn’t clean up under the hood. But I also wash under the hood regularly and some people never do.

Its been a long time coming, the 5.3 and lb7 that were in before I knew werent gonna stay. So its finally go time on all the little things. I'll post an overall before and after once the lml is completed. Looking back at the lb7 looks so shotty hahahaha

Well subframe is back in and suspension done up. And boy does she look good sitting back down at a proper height. No more jacked up front end, clown car looking diesel swap here. Lol. Few new vids are up on the Youtubes of the progress.

I sure hope engine parts come in soon. All this bordem made me drop the manifolds and turbos off at the plasma table guys to get flanges cut for headers. So thats kinda cool 😎

Engine parts are in! So this week should have the lml back together and if it goes really good in the car even.

But on a side note I accidently bought another car. Looks decent. Wrecked on the passenger front but then frame rail and subframe are ok. So yah I might slide over to the cummins forum once I start on it.

But for now the lml ss is priority and its gonna be a productive week, just as soon as I get a c15 I frame done. 👌👌

So I've been taking time mocking up engine again to make sure I've got it located in the best spot possible. In my many hours under the car I noticed extra bolt holes cast into the LML block just behind the original motor mount holes that looked very familiar.

So what we see here is a 2016 LML duramax fully bolted into a 2014 camaro using factory camaro mounts. Un modified and every bolt hole lines up.

Motor placement also looks great and my modified oil pan clears the rack still.

I'm honestly speechless I guess this means the LML has LS bolt pattern on the block.
