Hello all.

A buddy of mine bought a truck from auction as a no start and asked me to look at it. I saw it was beat to hell and back, deleted, and had the programmer (mini max) under the seat. When we popped the hood I noticed it was all stock... except the ecu was missing.

Can a used ecu be purchased and reprogrammed for the truck? And can the (now defunct) tuner be utilized again?

I'm worried the ecu was removed to hide a running condition. Who takes an ecu without taking the tuner laying on the seat?

Thanks in advance.

YES and YES - Possibly. Just be sure you get the correct ECU for the truck and have it programmed by a dealer. Not all tuners and be used by people other than the original when mated to a different truck/ECU. Call the manufacturer and see what your options are.

You'll have to get online to get it unlocked I had a mini max they can be unlocked they do cost 500 bucks though just for an unlock. For deletes you have to spend another 100 there for a Code I've had one.
