Motor Trend has announced their 2010 Truck of the Year ...

THE DODGE 2500/3500! With it's blistering 17.1 @ 77 mph performance, it bested some real world class trucks. They picked four excellent trucks of similiar pedigree, and put them head-to-head, the Ram won!

Like what you might ask?

A Tundra stripper worktruck edition
A SVT F150 Raptor
and a Ford Minivan built in Turkey!

OK, I can understand it beating the Tundra, and perhaps the minivan, but how come it beat the Raptor?

Because it hauls more.
Who would have thought!

Hats off to the staff of Motor Trend once again for proving you are completely clueless about cars and trucks. Keep up the good work!

PS - I'm not really bashing the Dodge as much as I'm bashing Motor Trend for comparing apples to snow plows (oranges are at least fruit). WTF were they thinking??

A few years back that compared 3500's towing performance. Chevy and Ford both had diesel engine and Dodge had the hemi. WTF? They said well the dodge performed very badly with 16,000 pounds in tow:spit: Those guys are tools.

I would have given it to the Raptor:

The Ford Minivan is not significantly better than any other commercial van. The Dodge/MB Sprinter TDI is probably better.

The Dodge 2500/3500 is a good truck, but not significantly better than the Ford or GM offerings.

The SVT F150 is the best off-road truck that has ever graced a dealer's lot going by most reviews. Second place would be? Huh, well, the Range Rover? RIIGGHHTT. Z-71? Please. Nothing is in it's class in the off-road sector.

So the Ford is a significant jump in automotive design and engineering, where the other three are just more of the same stuff.

I would say a Wrangler Rubicon or a Dodge Power Wagon are equally as capable off road, if not more.
