Congrats on the buck! We have the 4 point restriction here and it is producing some nice buck BUT good luck finding them. The deer heard is nothing like it used to be.

Wes, PA definitely has the potential to be a big buck state, and I think we will see this as time goes by.

The doe kill is to blame for the reduction in the herd. As for the restriction, that's sort of the nature of the beast...a definite double edged sword. Another downside would be the killing of some 1.5yr olds with great potential. Aside from micro-managing and increasing hunter awareness/deer genetic education, a 4 point restriction is about the only way to get hunters to let the smaller buck walk.
