200K LML. Does this look normal?

So I bought a truck that has 198K on it. Probably a hot shooter, had a 5'th wheel adapter in bed. DPF/Urea was deleted (I don't know for how long) and it had an H and S tuner on it for an unknown amount of time. It had head gasket issues when I bought it.

I finally got the motor out, and was putting stuff back together today and was wondering if these cylinder walls and pistons look normal for an engine with 200K on it. This is after using one of the green scotch bright pads and some brake cleaner to get a little of the black carbon off of it.

The markings at the top of the bore (leopard print) is perfectly normal exactly how it should look. Can't say anything for piston its too blurry for me

The criss cross lines on the wall look like the factory hone job someone can correct me if wrong

Thanks hopkins.

Anyone have any idea if the torque converter bolts area one time use?
For that matter, are there other bolts that should be replaced other than rocker arm hold down bolts when replacing heads, water pump, glow plugs etc?

After looking at these pics and those in the thread of the LML with the broken pistons, is it just me or does that H&S tuner fuel extremely heavy? :confused:

Not sure, I'm just glad I have EFI live on her now and hope the damage hasn't been done already! We'll find out for sure cause I'll put this truck through its paces towing in the mountains.

The star pattern on the top of the piston is from larger pulse width, I don't know for sure what H@S runs for timing in their tunes but the star pattern comes from big pulse with and the fuel/fire spraying the top of the piston and not in the combustion chamber like it should with stock tuning. this is where adding timing can help because half or close to it of the fuel shot is coming in sooner instead of spraying the top of the piston.

X2. My lb7 cylinders looked like that at 320000.

Also, is it normal to be able to move the piston a tiny bit side to side in the bore? I assume so cause it didn't have a bunch of blow by and all the cylinders did it, but really not 100%…. help.

To my knowledge that is ok, thats just the movement of the piston on the rings if you know what im trying to say.

Yep, the marks are from the factory induction hardening process.

Cool guys. Thanks for the input. If there is something I need to catch before the motor goes back into the truck this is about my last chance so thats what all the questions are about. If you don't have time to do it right the first time how will you ever find time to do it twice? Thanks for yalls time.

How is it possible to make much of any power of not less at 1400pw? That what a stock lly is at. Are you sure you don't me 2400?

max pw of 1400 so no they don't really overfuel per say people just don't seem to wacth temps they run 26* max timing iirc I can screen shot there maps if people like

I would like to see a pw map? Not calling bs on you just curious how they make good power with that little of pw.

What hp tune is that? Makes sense if the injector is bigger it like running a set of 60% in an older Dmax. So what does a stock fuel table look like? Forgot to look at the lml one I downloaded a couple weeks ago off a forum.

course with the LML making what at the rear wheel......360-370 stock it would take much fuel and timing to get it to 500 really. compared to what it takes to get the older ones there I suppose.
