Lly will set a code but not an engine light with the egr blocked or removed. No de-rate or anything so no real need for a tune unless you want one. 99.9% sure of this.
Not sure if I missed it but does your LLY have an upgraded mouthpiece? That's number one on my LLY fix list. Followed by EGR delete and PCV reroute.
The one I'm looking at is bone stock as far as engine/tranny. What's wrong with the mouthpiece on them?
Nothing wrong with the factory mouth piece on a stock truck. In my opinion it's not even really beneficial or worth the money on a stock trans- safe tuned truck.

I have been since he mentioned it. I'll end up doing it along with pcv egr exhaust tuner but not for a little while.
You have got to be kidding. That is one of the best mods wether the the truck is stock or not. The turbo spools SO much faster. Ever need to cross a busy street quickly? The stock mouthpiece makes it dangerous unless you do a boosted launch.
Maybe my butt dyno needs an adjustment :rofl:
I really didn't feel a difference in trucks I've driven with and without. Haven't installed one on mine yet so I can't vouch for my personal truck. Comparing before and after on a truck I installed one on I didn't notice a real difference. It was stock trans tuned by ppei I believe. Others I've driven with them and compared to my factory mouthpiece truck didn't feel any more responsive down low.
Maybe I'm not observant enough, to each his own.
