200k lly advice

I found a nice lly with 190k miles and until I graduate and have it paid off I'm not looking to go after more power because it's got enough to do what I need and I have enough other motors I can play with for way cheaper. With that being said is there anything I should do to make it more likely to reach 300k without needing unnecessary repairs? It's never had a tuner on it and I don't think I'm going to atleast for a little while and when I do it'll be for mileage. Any suggestions?

I don't think there's anything absolutely necessary to make it to 300k. There's things you can do that would be better for the truck if the funds are available. You could put a lift pump with extra filtration to help with the cp3 and injectors. You could also delete the EGR.

Yeah, the important thing with the LLY is the headgaskets. Deleting the EGR is beneficial too. But if the truck was babied with the original owner, then youll be fine

He came down to 18 and the way I see it is it's got everything I want, the leveling kit and tires are exactly what I want and I like the brush guard. And the tranny is under warranty and it's not tuned.

Is it important if the egr is deleted vs putting a blocker plate in?

Since we are in Florida and have no emission checks, deleting the egr is fine. But its easier to just block it

Fyi, I sold my 238,000 mile lly with headstuds, compound turbos, manifolds and up pipes, and built transmission for $17,500. That was in January.

i bought jakes truck and it was a great deal in my opinion. i just did the nada on the truck you posted and clean retail in my area is 22,500, and it would bring close to that at a car lot. if it is clean and you check it out good and it doesnt have any problems it doesnt seem like a bad deal at 18k.

I have a buddy with an lly he beats the hell out of. It's got about 340k miles on it and for most of the last 200k it's been on 40" tires with a banks programmer. It's had a trans, rear end and front end work but never had valve covers off. And only replaced 3 injectors. No lift pump or extra filters and egr still in place.
I have close to 190k on mine and also beat the shit out of it. Stock gaskets and head bolts.
What part of Florida? I'm from Ocala and can help you out if it does give you problems and you're close.

That truck will last a long time. Since your not planning to do allot of performance mods right now Id do a blocker plate for under $20 shipped and a PVC reroute.
