im not as experienced as u obviously coco... but i have owned a banks big hoss bundle.. i bought it when i didnt know sh!t about diesels.. its not a good product IMO ... not that it matters but i sell diesel parts, and i own a napa auto parts, so i am familiar with their product... there are also plenty of very good tuners who are vendors here that will offer very good customer service , better than u will ever get from banks with 10x's the knowledge!

That post was for pacougar.
sarcasim is sometimes lost in text, ryan. Most of us know of your extensive experience(i didn't know you owned a napa though!) I thought it was a known fact banks uses parts out of his race trucks to develop and use in the bundles? I too have experience with banks products, while i will agree there are better materials available, i disagree about it being a poor product. What did you experience while using the big hoss bundle that makes you feel this way, huh?

One of the reasons i love this site! PASSION!

Ill start with the easy, the banks ram air box... there are two on the sidewinder duramax, the tuned port intake runners also on the sidewinder, tq converter.... theres much more you can look it up yourself if you are that interested. I am interested about what it costs to attian certian goals, cost is not the only driving factor for me, i also think about what is going on through the entire operating systems, there are issues that seem to get overlooked, like drive pressure, added heat at the turbo, manifolds, and exhaust, how about air density/mass, you can work your turbo pretty hard and hot if it is not getting enough air in and out. I have noticed that further advise about what to supplement an efi live tune only shows up after a problem is encountered. That can be not only frustrating, it can get very costly.

Perhaps the air boxes are the same, maybe. What kit come with the intake runners and the tq converter in that is not even close to what you get in their kit. Now do you believe all the issues you listed above get overlooked by the top tuners out there when they build tunes for people with nearly stock trucks trying to get better fuel economy?

What is this about anyways? A banks bash ir a cocoal bash? Either way
Do you want me to say banks is crap, sorry i dont believe that
I already stated banks is expensive
I already stated efi live is a better product, but i only believe that if you are going all out.
Do you want to hear you are right? Too bad, look in the mirror and tell yourself then.
You want to banter back an forth im done. This thread has gotten way to sloppily opinionated. Sorry to the op bout that, but if you want to ask questions here expect to filter through some crap, cuz everyone here likes to know everything, and never be wrong.

I think you have misunderstood me. I've stated Banks makes a fine product but it's cost is what makes it not worth it, and I don't believe I've "bashed you" in any way. However I apologize if that's how it came off to you. Just so it stated out loud, I've been wrong plenty of times. Just ask my friends about the "straight drop in" engine swap project I did on my 96 Sierra:(

No the tuners dont overlook these parameters. Vehicle owners do, when they buy built trans tunes with a stock trans, or tow in a tune they shouldn't. a dsp5 efi tune has tunes for street and race, not just economy, if the owner decided to be irresponsible they could destroy any number of parts, banks doesnt allow that to happen. Wow man, who told you its ok to tow on a efi live tune with no gauges? Eek. Nice sig btw, your words are now much more credible(jk). No kit come with the intake runners dude, you know that pshhh, or the tq converter, but you need to install the tq converter, boost coupler, thermal coupler to open the banks race file. What i was relaying is, these parts were all developed by the banks race team before it hit the aftermarket for sale, and the r&d banks gathers from racing goes directly into its product line.

I thought you were done. But I guess words mean more to you than actions.
