Drove down to Tennessee to get a rust free truck! I am From N.Y. , found this gem for a descent buck and it was completely bone stock. Not even a single dent in the box! Very impressive. 12hr one way for a friend an I.

120k, ls interior, 4 on the floor.

Goals are built trans, good stance, supporting mods and some type of turbo upgrade. And of course enjoy it!


So far, I have done lift pump, exhaust, egr delete, re-coated frame and wheels. Trans is next..

Thanks fellas! This is all new to me! I always go on Craigslist and just pick up some cheap wheels an tired to save a buck. This should be worth it! Business I'm trying to get going is really paying off!

What did you coat the frame with?

Coated the frame with VHT epoxy paint. 30 bucks in spray cans. Just a simple steam wash and coated it. I learned from a few fellas on here that if you don't prep it properly your wasting your time. Oil it and coat it with a can of something that looks similar to stock. It self primes and is very adhesive

Got the brakes bled last night, installed all new brake lines, nothing wrong with old ones I just wanted something better looking on there. I don't know why they don't come from the factory costed! Drives me nuts.


Just got my taxes back. Thinking about giving Mark a call ! Keep eye balling that 3794 stg2r.....

That's a great turbo, I ran one for a couple of years with a modded LBZ cp3 and stock injectors in my LBZ. Was actually able to squeeze 700hp @ 1350ft/lbs with a 10mm and 45 overs. Towed great and super responsive.

This frame coating stuff is crazy! I can't get it off my skin. I dripped some it on my knee of my pants, it soaked through to my skin and can't get that off either! Looks wicked though!

That's the beauty of it, as I wash it and it comes off, buy another can and touch it up. But it seems like pretty durable stuff and goes along with factory stuff pretty good. Time will tell, and I for sure keep others posted. Next is turbo and trans. Get into the good stuff

Bringing this back up. Just ordered a stg2 3794 with the modded vanes. I'm going to tackle the trans myself and a DK converter is going in the truck. I also will be updating the mirrors to the boost auto mirrors.

Heading out to new Hampshire with it this weekend, should have everything buttoned up for next weekend.

For anybody who has followed this thread about my undercoating....it's still holding up and looks damn near to factory as well. I really like the stuff and seems pretty durable.
