2006 Chevy 1500 hood on a 2005 2500HD??

Will a 2006 Chevy 1500 grille assembly and hood fit on my 2005 2500HD?? I know I would have to swap both the grille and hood; I am just unsure if the hood will fit. Does anyone know if this will work? I have found a hood and grille for $100. That's cheaper than just replacing the grille for my 2500.

They "look" the same IIRC, but the best solution is to call a dealer and ask for the P/N. If they are the same, the P/N will be also.

I thought they were the same. As you said, they look the same.

Yeah. They look very similar but I have the huge bubble HD hood and the one off the 1500 is not. I was wondering if there will be any clearance problems with the shorter height hood.

2004 trucks had that hood and grill stock, it will fit just fine.

Personally I like it better than the big bulging hood, especially with an SS front facia. :thumb:

if the one off the 1500 isn't the same as your 2005 it's not a 2006. They are the same IIRC for the 2006 1500 and 2005-7 HD.

i put a 1500 hood on one of my 2500 work trucks and there is a huge gap from the grill to the hood so i dont know I would make sure if you want it to look right

Was it off an 03-05 1500? Did you put it on an 05-07 2500?

The guy posting the ad was wrong, its a 2005 Chevrolet 1500 hood and grille. I think it will fit. I think its worth the money anyway.
