As I tried to tell you before you bought the radio, clearing the VIN from a Nav radio is exceptionally simple with a Tech2, but what you now need to do is change the base programming of the radio. For that, you have to send it out to have a Delphi shop do it.

There is a guy on Ebay who could reprogram Nav units. He goes by the name maxpower_mi, and his name is Dan.

I started exploring the whole LUX vs premium Bose way back when Ben brought it to everyone's attention on DP back in 2004. Found that the Nav radios were different from the regular radios, and what programming needed to be done to make them work. Ben knows far far more than I do on all the electronics, though.

I dont know the first thing about blocker plates or fingersticks other than where to find them and who created them. Never needed one on my truck. :D

The y91 nav will work on your truck. But you have to take it to the dealer because it isnt a simple as him bringing the techII home. They have to pull the download off the GM site and put it in right there. My buddy is a tech at the dealer and he has done them for me single disc working with bose y91, 6 disc working with standard and so on. I am looking the touchscreen nav right now for my truck.

You guys are talking about two completely different things.

Single and 6-disc changers are different than Navigation units when it comes to changing them from LUX (Y91) to Premium (non-Y91, regular Bose)

For the single disc, disc/cassette and changer radios, yes...its as simple as programming them with the different TIS programming to change them from premium to LUX and back. This is also the only way you can clear a radio of the VIN in its memory so you can use it in your truck, whether its LUX or not. Hell, not to be a braggart, but I was the guy who figured that out.

For Navigation radios, you have to actually change the BASE programming of the radio itself in order to change it from Non-Y91 (premium) to Y91 (LUX) or vice versa....which no Tech at any dealership on the planet can do. You must send the radio to a Delphi repair house to change the base programming of a NAV radio, or get ahold of Dan or an old DP member named MoJoe01 from Florida.
When it comes to clearing a previous VIN from a Nav, though.....you can simply use a Tech2 for that.
