I have a 2003 Lb7 Duramax. I put a 2005 LLY engine in it. And I installed a 2006 LBZ mouthpiece on it.

My question is I need to install a Cold air intake box and tubing into the 2003 truck. So the MAF is from a 2003 -2005 uses the the same MAF. The only problem is the 2006 MAF is different style bolt up. So all the after market 2006 intakes tubes won't work with the 2005 MAF.

Can I run the 2006 MAF with my 2005 wiring.

Thank you

I have EFI live in the truck

I don’t know on the maf being able to be made to work, I doubt it. The only piece guys use is the lbz mouthpiece with an lly air tube and lly air box. The mouthpiece and tube don’t line up super well but it works.

If I'm reading that correctly, you might have a completely different MAF?

I have a 2005 LLY, with a LBZ mp, and a LBZ S&B intake, I don't remember there being any issues with it bolting up, I didn't have to buy a different MAF, how ever, it did have to be rescaled for the larger intake tube.

I can grab a pic of the intake if you want

^ thats how ive read it on here. I also have a 04.5 lly and wanted to do an intake. Everything I read said go lbz and have it calibrated for that maf.

I thought it was a different MAF, it looks like they changed it after 2007 so it should work. MY BAD

You will probably have to change your MAF voltage table, the difference is usually enough to kick a CEL.

You do have to modify the tune, but an lbz intake WILL work on an lly after the tune changes. It's one of the 1st upgrades I reccomend to lly owners. Even GM installed LBZ intake system's on lly overheater's, hence the factory tune file being available for the round air filter.

I put a LBZ intake in and it worked fine. I did not change my MAF or tune. No codes yet :)
