Once you install the lift pump, just delete the stock filter head.

Take a close look at the fuel lines under the truck. Mine were rusted at the connections to the braided hoses and fuel cooler, and one of those was letting air into the fittings and screwing with prime.

I'll definitely check on it I live in Ohio and my truck used to be a salt truck so highly likely your right
