Check the oil. Is it too full? Does it smell like diesel?

Do a paper towel test. Wipe the dipstick with a clean paper towel. Is there a darkening outside of the place where the oil marks the towel? If there is diesel in the oil it will wick out of the oil into the area surrounding the oil.

If it is an LB7, you may have an injector issue.

Blowby is always going to smell like diesel. Just like a gas engine smells of gas.

But if there is a lot of diesel fuel in your oil, it most likely got there via your injectors.

If your oil level goes up, you've got a problem.

This does not apply to LLY+, as the injectors are on the outside of the crankcase system.
