Hello everybody
I have a 2003 gmc 2500hd 6.6turbo diesel
It got to where it started fine cold but wouldn't start again until it sat for an hour or so.
My cheapie scanner showed coded po101 and po 404
I cleaned the maf sensor and new air filter
I thought I was taking the trunk in to get an egr replacement

I took it to the shop. they are saying its 8 injectors bad and an egr replacement too :(
Just doesn't sound right because the truck runs like a champ until turned off
could this be the fuel pressure sensor?

I would say injectors are bad. They probably have a high return rate and will not build enough rail pressure to start.

If the CP3 is bad you will also have low power. seen this first hand. my experience is when the Cp3 goes bad but the injectors are ok it starts fine but the pump can't keep up with the high demand at full power. all CP3's bypass/return some fuel.

This. Iv replaced multiple sets for customers for this reason. None had a hint of smoke or a haze but returned 30+ mL of fuel
