2002 2500HD Losing Prime

I have a 2002 2500HD -- Noticed a little smoke this spring --- Still ran fine -- then later this summer it would not start unless primed -- Now won't stay running for more that 15 seconds.... Change fuel filter housing -- both fuel lines --- still won't stay running..... One guy said it was a bad injector.(wouldn't it still run with a bad injector?)... Another guy suggested fuel pressure regulator...

Won't run if it's returning to much fuel I believe

Put a good scanner on it and watch to see what the fuel rail pressure is doing. Sounds like it is still sucking air if it will fire up and run but for only 15 sec at a time then shut off? You could unplug the fuel pressure regulator on the cp3 pump and see if it stays running.

You can leave the bleeder screw tightened and press the primer to see if it bubbles anywhere around that area.

Check for fuel in the oil as well, if its loosing that much on return side this would be an obvious tell sign. need more info tho....still too many possible issues to pin point.:thumb:
