No, I guess I'm asking what is GOOD to be adding to this ULSD fuel. The last time I owned a diesel, the fuel was still decent. I just used Standyne blue back then.

Now it looks like there's so many choices, that I can't decipher what works and what can do more harm than good.

I really like the standyne additive. But just cheap 2 stroke works good as well, probably just as good as anything else. Anything to get some lubricity in this dryer fuel.

I use 2 stroke and Power Service in every 30 gallons of fuel since day one back in July 2006 and this truck purrs like a cat sitting in your lap. Runs great balance rates always close to same inside specs of each other too. I'm not changing. Engine oil is Delo synthetic and K&N #3003 filters. Simple it works.

Boy this kind of stuff has been going on for a LOOOONG time. ALL the diesels ran on oils WAY before diesel fuel was even around (I don't want to get into history). I've been running motor oils, trans fluids, hydraulic oils, gear lubes and what have you since back in 02 on my LB7. If you research on DP, you will find a post back in 05 where I did a 2K mile run on nothing but these oils. No diesel fuel with it. These are diesels and they will run on all kinds of oils as long as there clean. As far as lubing the injects and cp3? Absolutely needed. As far as extending the life of the injects, it's up for debate, but there still needing replaced even under these conditions. I've watch mine slowly get worse over time and as the miles add up. The only thing I've seen thus far that I can state that has put the injectors back into balance on the LB7 is,,,,,,,cooling the oil so it's not cooking the injects any more. This is also up for debate being it has been a very recent discovery in the tests I've been doing. Might be something else and there backing off for the big BOOM.

Ready for the :poop: and to be :alone:

YAY! My 2 cts.
