Here is a very interesting article I found on adding 2-stroke oil to diesel. The guys did what must be the most comprehensive study to date:

Very interesting reading.
I agreeThey did it in a car diesel engine, common rail is all the same in theory but why couldn't they have done it to the big three trucks of its so "comprehensive" of a test.
I still feel the additives like diesel kleen, ect... are better since they were engineered to work in a diesel.
Depends what I have on hand. It's either diesel kleen or 2 stroke oil. Usually every other fill up. Definitely runs better, shooter idle and no more surge or lope.

Was supposed to say smoother haha. I think it has more effect on lb7s because of the lsd vs ulsd.X2! I've used it a few times to stop my "lope".
SuperTech TC-W3 oil from walmart.
Would it hurt for me to use klotz?
You're not supposed to huff the exhaust!

I used this in my truck when the FPR was starting to fail. Got rid of the idle lope until I built the motor. Now I'm running OptiLube, when I remember to dump one inSuperTech TC-W3 oil from walmart.
X2 any ashless oil should be fine. If you deleted EGR and your cat, then any 2 stroke oil should be fine.I just remember that we were told to use an ashless oil. Not sure if Klotz products are like that.
I throw Maxima premix in my lawn mower for the same reason. And also because the only gasoline I have at home is for the dirt bike, lol.Ive run benol in my lawn tractor though just for the smell!
