I was just at a local shop and one of the employees built this gem. It has a detroit 453 and a Allison transmission.

I don't get it... Smooth and relatively quiet duramax motor to that loud ass clanky pos. I've worked on them, that would be my last choice. That Detroit would have been better in a classic truck

Well obviously no one would build that for a long trip DD, unless they are deaf and patient, but either way is cool as shit, but I would have dropped a 6 speed manual in it, personal preference.

I actually like it. Everyone has a LS powered vehicle, and most of them are faster than whatever you end up building. Why not build something different, even if it is impractical? I'm all about projects like this!

I hate it..... only cause it's not the 8v or 12v in there. God damn do those motors sounds bad ass straight pipped

Those little 4 bangers sound like a pissed off house cat with 5" straight pipe. We had an old Peabody pump with a 4v-53 at the Rig to pump water from the creek to the Rig and you could hear that bastard over a mile away echoing through the holler.
