Well today was my first time at the track ever and I had a blast but I have some stuff to work on. My 60's were pretty poor, normally right around 1.9-2.0. I am launching at 2100-2200rpms at 6-7lbs of boost. I know I should launch at more boost but I didnt want to break anything with the big tires.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can set up my suspension to handle a harder launch with the big tires. I currently have cognito tie rods, and idler and pitman supports. Would a centerlink and dropping my T-bars more help much?

My fastest pass at the track today I smoked the lights so my time was accurate. It said 12.348 @ 104.87

My next fastest was a 13.039 @ 103.874 with a 1.97 60'. I ran 13.0 all day and really want to make it into the mid to high 12's.

It was good meeting all of you today... that 104 mph would have you in the 12's for sure. I wouldn't worry about breaking anything during your launch im sure your lift will handle a 10 psi launch no problem.

When you launched at 6-7psi did you get any wheel hop?

Yeah I had a bit of wheel hop but it wasnt horrible. I need to put my stock keys in so I can drop the front end down a bit more so the cv angle is better. I also am curiosu about shimming the fuel rail. Who has seen gains in ET even though they were holding rail pressure. I am able to hold 25.5k throughout my entire run.

Thats with the twins. I ran 35" BFG all terrains at the track thanks to Jordan. I was trying my best not to break anything.

Russ, Nick, and Anthony it was very nice to meet you.

Oh yeah Russ if you read this I need to get a hold of you about your exhaust turn down. That thing is slick, and I think I want to ditch my exhaust.

It was a good time today! We should mod that rail or yours and go back there. Good job too! Now you got the first time out of the way and now it's time to get some:D

Haha I am going to launch harder next time to get buch better times. I just realizes yours and Nicks 60' times were .3-.4 better than mine.

honestly if your trying for all out best ET while keeping your lift i would run the stock wheels with street tires... it will love really goofy but will give you the best results

Yeah I know it will be faster but I want to stay true to my lifted truck heritage, plus I have always wanted to build a fast big truck.

Congrats!

I was watching a show about 60's era musclecars last night and they were bragging about running mid 14's in a 3000lb car with a V8. A show about Dodge Darts.

jrad12381, congrats on the times.
:)

It amazes me at the power output of the Duramax.
These things are awesome.

What's the fastest times for a stock dually?

Mine seemed to run good but didn't want to break anything (tranny?).
Launched just above idle in 2wd.
Tranny seemed to shift all 6 gears in 1/8th.

:)

Has anyonle else tried to launch hard with 35's or another large tire. I know i can get the 60's down I just dont want to break anything. I was launching at 7 lbs, I think Reece was launching at 17lbs, and Russ was Launching at 26lbs on his twin turbo LBZ. I know if I can get my 60's down into the 1.7's the truck will be in the 12.8's, maybe 12.7's. I think I am going to try some 30% over injectors too.

I know Dale (LBZ) runs 35's not sure how hard he launchs though.

On my 05 Id launch as hard as the brakes would let me on 35s, I had sleeves and cognito braces. Stock height though.... tbars maxed.

K I may try a harder launch. I have Cognito braces, and tie rods. I think I will put my stock keys in and drop the T-bars down until my CV angles are level.

I think youll be ok though, make sure your CVs are somewhat level and the front end is tight and give it hell!
