Ok so I think i got it figured out. Looks like the fuel heater in the filter housing went bad/burned up. Basically traced and unloomed the entire harness. Couldn't find any broken wires other than the ones I posted earlier. Was ohming from maf sensor plug to ecm c1 connector pin #9 and then unhooked the bail connectors on top of the engine. Small bail connector unhooked...no change...big bail connector unhooked...short went away. So now obviously the short is on the engine harness itself somewhere between bail connectors down to the injectors. Did some more ohming while unplugging sensors and what do you know...last thing I unplug (fuel heater)...the short goes away, plug it back in and the short comes right back.
Reloomed the harness and put it all back together and drivability is back to normal. 1/4 throttle spools my s472 right up to 12 psi no problem while brake boosting in 4wd with minimal smoke. When I raced last Friday at the track it took damn near everything the pedal had just to get the turbo to spool up and it also smoked alot more.
I can floor it from a dead stop and the tires blow right off on the 1-2 shift. No more laggy shift with delayed power kicking in mid 2nd gear.
Need to drive it some more to really get a feel for it but as of now, pretty confident the issue is resolved. No to mention my engine has never idled and sounded so smooth. One of the wires that was rubbed through and corroded to hell was the FPR supply voltage. So far the rear wheel speed sensor C0055 is still active...guess all the wires I fixed didn't have anything to do with ABS. Oh well!
