My bad, it was the 285/60/17 toyo proxy ST2's. The tires are at my buddies shop, I just have had second thoughts about them so haven't done anything.

I'm considering them, but there doesn't seem to be much of a solid contact patch on the ground for hooking on the track vs the 275/60/17 420's.
275/60/17 nitto S420's 29.96 tall 10.83 wide
285/60/17 toyo proxes st2's 30.4" tall 11.4 wide

Not much difference. Just not sure which tire I want to buy.

I mainly did the toyo because I need all the tire height I can at 130mph with a 5 speed.

My 22's are over 100lbs per corner, so I need to drop 50 lbs a corner to make a big enough difference

I have a feeling they will be a bust. my 305/45/22's have netted me a best of 1.72 60'. Probably cant get much better than that with the weight my truck is with the turbo setup.

My best 60 is a 1.82 with a zf and 275/60/16 falcons on pyos and blown shocks. But I don't have traction issues like you guys yet. Front of my truck snaps up a foot when I launch. My buddy ran the toyo proxes st2s on 17 x9 Black rocks and he loved them. He has a twinned 12 valve regular cab. Hooked good enough to destroy third gear in an nv 4500 a few days ago.

Brian, have you considered different shocks? If the front is lifting too much on the launch you will lose a ton of traction on the front wheels. A set of adjustable shocks, even if they are the Ranchos, should help with traction.

FWIW I've cut a 1.64 on semi bald Mastercraft Courser A/T2 10-ply & 1.68 on brand new Courser AXT 10ply. I feel the suspension has a bigger effect than tires.

The only reason why I want to keep my 22's, despite being 100lbs a corner, is they are wide.. my fear is when I go to a 265 tire that's half the weight, it will not 330' as well. Rigth now the best 60' it has cut is a 1.72 on the 22's.

you end up with the 285 proxes? Im thinking of running the same on my H2 rims but worried they will look to small on a cc/sb ill be dropping 3in in rear and turning out keys
any pictures of them on your truck?
