Congrats on the new best time! :thumb:

My suggestion is stop throwing parts at the truck for more power and work on setup. Get that 60' down in the 1.6x and you'll be well into the 11s. Get some adjustable shocks, sticky tires on PYOs, drop as much weight as possible and play with tire pressures. Also, consider lowering pulsewidth until it holds 26k the entire way down the track. Pressure is more important than pulse. Good luck.

Thanks for the good advice..my buddies keep saying get some new shocks and i was thinking they were full of shit lol. I have been running 30 up front and 27psi in rear. I think next time i go to the track I will drop the pw 1-2% up top and see what happens. Eventually when the motor lets go I will take it a little further. Sorry to hear about yours..

x2 to all of that. Congrats on your new best!

id do what chris said and back that pulse down. congrats on the new best!

I would put PYO's on there and get rid of those heavy 20's. any tires on PYO's are going to do you better than those 20's. do all other weight reductions too.

with your current set up you should be able to cut 1.6x 60's no prob. i did 1.64 on all terrains when i went 12.27 and it was 100 degrees out.. havent been back since.

good luck

I disagree, Righteyeblind has pulled a 1.49 60' on nitto 420's 305-50r-20. Spend some time to setup the truck and the 60's will come down.

There are many that do well with 20's. (I cut 1.6's and 1.7's with my old 20" BMF's) But rotational mass and the overall weight saving of a PYO is hard to beat. I am by no means saying it cannot be done, because it can and has been done. It's just easier...

Little more timing will help with the pulse you are running. You are not seeing it because your not hitting that rpm, double check where that 30 degrees is at on your table, chances are is pretty high. Also dont forget your max timing table.

Another thing to remember is tire pressure. Play with it a little bit longer, correct tire pressure for the surface, launch and temperature can sometimes free up a mph or 2...

Also set your keys about a turn or 2 tighter in on passenger side if you are getting hairy launch. I spent plenty of runs at the track one night playing with tire pressure and suspension adjustments ONLY (no tuning) to see what gains can be had, and picked up some trap and ET, only problem is it takes work as each track is different. GOOD LUCK!

What is your best 60' on PYO?

1.64 on 265 bfg at's stock injectors, rods etc.

That's pretty good. I'll be running nitto 420's next summer, I want to see if a stock bottom end truck can pull under a 1.60.

Besides my truck looks so gay with PYO's on it, even with 285's (bushwacker cutout flares). I tried it once...

Anytime!
On my 11.90 tune the pulse was 2300µs. You should try it around 2100µs and see what happens. I was shocked at how much harder it pulled up top when I lowered it and it held full PSI.
I like to do 32/32 on the first run then adjust for heat. Usually you'll need to take another 2-3 psi out after the initial pass.
The Rancho 9000xl is a good option for shocks. Fairly cheap and the adjustability makes the truck ride like a Caddy on the highway. I found my truck left smoother with the rears stiffer than the fronts.

^^ i would agree. set up (track prep, tire psi, boost psi) is everything i cant seem to put any of them together
