NHRDA is thinking of adding a 11.90 index class for 2011.

IMO its a good idea as long as there is the racers to support it.
If it gets 8 more trucks to run, where they might not have wanted to get smoked in SS by 10sec trucks & not wanted to run brackets with 17sec trucks, then its a good thing but not when there is 1 or 2 trucks running or thinning the other divisions.

they need a divison out in Hawaii.

but yes this is a great thing. i was never going to run in SS even with a fully built motor. and i dont see a point in playing with the bracket class.

Nick i think they are making this class for you now that you are in the 11's

I agree I think it's a good idea, would like to see a little quicker index say 11.70 but 11.90 is OK. NHRDA has to do a much better job advertising the events and we as members must help them especially at the events that are closest to us. I don't think it will take away from the SS class, will provide a good class for the quicker trucks who can run in the high 11's but don't want to put in a roll bar and the rest of the safety equipment it takes to move up and be competitive in SS. There will be some SS trucks that would run both as well. I certainly would. Maybe we can talk them into a 5/10 tree, that would make it feasible to red light, no so on a 4/10 tree, at least from what I've seen. :thumb:

I would say as close to the cage requirement (maybe 11.5) would be the best index to run. It's insane that there are supposed street legal trucks that run 10's in Super Street and the guys that don't want to run in sportsman, which is usually a quite full class anyhow, have to compete with them. Right now, it seems to be more of a who can hold together to the finish rather than who can actually race in that class LOL!

I thought that at first as well, but I think the 11.9 is probably the best for all concerned. Allows some trucks to detune and run both SS and 11.9 index and also some of the real fast bracket racers to run as well. Also allows some of the faster modded street trucks who don't race due to not being competitive in SS and who don't like brackets to get off the snide and race in a heads up class where they have a chance. A lot of folks now think the SS and PS classes are about the same. In the west maybe but not the east were we really need to get more trucks to come out.

I don't know Ken, maybe they should model it after IHRA classes since NHRA is going under:hehe:

God wasn't that an amazing statement?? Wade is such a hoot at times. Haven't met him in person, heard he is a really nice guy in person. I really want to see his Prostock truck do well. We need fast cool trucks, fans love that and us racers do to. For those of you who don't read compD Wade Moody said in this forum over there that the NHRDA should model it's classes after IHRA since NHRA is going under. I told him among other things that I'm sure the Full Throttle Series racers would like to know that. :thumb:

Any thoughts on Greg's suggestion of index for PS & SS
ET Bracket - Dial-in bracket
Quick Diesel - 11.90 Index
SuperStreet - 10.40 Index
ProStreet - 8.90 Index
TopDiesel - All Tube Chassis' no limit

IMO if you're going to index one you may as well index them all. Gregs suggestions seem to be pretty decent.

I guess I don't have a problem with indexing. It does kill the idea of having any, "records" if that has any meaning to anyone. Obviously being selfish I'd like to see the index for SS about 9.5 and no limit or index PS so those guys can keep going and trying to go lower. I think that is good for the sport.

I agree with Ken, indexing pro street might not be the best plan. Indexing the fast trucks will hold back progress of the sport.
