Have any of you guys ran into any issues with a Suncoast 1058 and a single s475/87/.90r? I am having issues trying to get mine to do a boosted launch. I can only get it to 6psi and 1800rpms. Then it is just a smokey mess. It did this with stock fueling and now the exact same thing with bigger injectors and cp3. I thought the 1058 would stall to 2300?

That's exactly how my 72/87/1.0 was with my 1055. It spooled ok on the stock motor/compression. Went to 16:1 with the new motor and could not get the 1055 to stall at all. Went to a 1053 and it lights the turbos like a boss.

Stall speed doesn't mean it will instantly stall to its rated rpm.

How hard does the truck fuel when trying to stage? May need to scale the maf back a hair so it doesn't choke the motor.

I have a 2100 stall and had this issue. It was the T4 gasket leaking on the back side where I couldn't see it. Not saying it's your issue but it's a start.

I recently went from a 83 to a 87 and I inspected all of it while it was apart. I did the same thing with the 83. I thought it was just no enough fuel

I had a suncoast 1057 which is a low stall and could spool my 475 pretty good. You definitely have to have the tuning right to start off with. If I held the brake and just went into the throttle it would just go into a dead bog. I got my best results by easing in with about 1000 RPM's, I'd hold there until my egts got to 800 or so then feed it some more. I could get it up to 2500 or so and cut some 1.7 60' .

I've ran a 475 and now a 480 with a 1058, regardless of the tuning, it won't stall high for staging. Now it couples and drives great, just no burnout on slicks.

It is a tuning issue unless there is a problem with the convertor itself. I personally wouldn't run less than a 1055 with a turbo that large. Have you tried bumping into it instead of just holding the breaks and pressing the pedal. What is your throttle limited injection at ?

I've personally ran three different tuners tuning. I can do a burnout no problem on street tires, just not on slicks. I can get them to start spinning but it's just a hair too low of RPM to really get the charger lit. It also likes to push through the brakes at a relatively low amount of boost. As I said, street driving is great with the 1058.
