looking at new converters, i currently have a 1057 stock stator. I have a DTS 72 vgt turbo, as of right now at the drag strip i need around 200-400 more rpm for a solid boost launch. I tow frequently and dont want something too sloppy. This truck will never see anything more than 850 hp and always have a 72vgt on it. Im stuck betweeen a 1055, or a ML, both having billet stators. Whats everyone recommend for best bang for the buck and quick lock-up/couple speed and still maintain street manners? Doing a full trans refresh during Thanksgiving week. Open to any type of converter
Thanks in advance

The ml in stock stall will probably be a bit tight. You can get Jack to send you whatever stall you want to a point. I have run alot of different suncoast and precision converter configurations. For what I use the trucks for I like the ml better than any converter I have had. The lockup is smooth and converter couples well. The suncoast converters I have run 1053 54 55 56 57 58 all had good things dependant on the turbo configuration requirments. They all also had very annoying 4th and sometimes 5th gear lockup. Didnt matter if it was a trans I had built or a trans that George @ Suncoast had built. I do really like my 1054 behind the lmm but 4th gear lockup can be harsh under acceleration.

1056 should suit you pretty well.

1056 is not the converter for this application, Nor is it a "racing" converter by any means. In my professional opinion The 1056 is really an "entry level" (700hp and under) converter and is not to be used in high horse power/racing or sled pulling applications.

55-3D would be more than sufficient for the application type in which you are speaking

Sorry, that would be a fat finger typo. Supposed to be a 5
