Yeah the resistors in the switch are wired differently. When you turn the knob it receives a different voltage and selects the appropriate DSP table. These voltages can be changed in the tune.

That being said I know a lot of guys run no limiting at all on their track tunes and I think that's what they're talking about. You can't really turn those off when they have heavy tow tunes on the dsp because smoke and egt would be out of control with a driver that didn't understand feathering throttle until boost comes up...they end up being unhappy.

If you do it the other way around and leave the limiters in there, the fuel is limited until there is sufficient boost and they complain of slower spool on the race tune.

This is why I don't do race DSPs. It's how I do it and I'm sure others do it different. I will make tow/Econ/street dsp's all day long but when someone is serious about track times I go single tune every time.

I have never run across a issue with the dsp 1-4 tables limiting. Whatever you don't see in the custom OS it pulls off the base. Socal and fish are the 2 top switch sellers. Guys switches and fishes switches scale the voltages differtly...if you don't like the way yours is, you can install the other companies switch or Trent can rewrite the tunes.

As an update. Ran on the dyno with the 100hp nozzles and a tune with 2700us pw. Truck made 540 and still completely cleaned up. If I had to do it all over again I would have waited an extra couple of days and made sure to get a bigger nozzle. I got them to shorten the pulse width but when all is said and done I think the next tune will be 3000. Just my .02

Has anyone actually made a reliable 600+ with this charger and a stock single CP3??? Steve's truck runs really good and is a handful on the street. What are other guys with this charger seeing for boost???? Rich made 637 with 65% overs and CP3 x2 with Tony's tuning........... Steve post your dyno sheet if you can???

I'll go grab it and post it up. The curve looks awesome. Just doesn't make a big peak number. I wanna say that Mark Broviak did over 7oo with this charger but he had 60 overs and a modded cp3 if I remember right.

i run 548-549 on my stock lb7 turbo and cp3. I am running Trent's tuning and run a fass 150, mbrp exhaust, afe intake and ppe boost valve. I talked with Kelsie Epp @ the Billings Mt Diesel Drags and she dyno'd 590+ with stock lb7 15% extrude honed tips, lbz cp3 with a modded regulater, manifolds and uppipes. She was running a stock charger. What does your rail look like @ 2700us? Giver moarrr!:thumb:

It needs more. Just put this big tune on the other night and haven't logeed it. According to my insight it's still holding strong. At 2400us it had no problem maintaining 25kpsi, within a couple hundred of demand at all times. I'm thinking since Rick's castflows are on sale I might grab a set and a high flow Y bridge just to squeeze a bit more air throught her

Made over 500hp from about 2000rpms (which is when he could start to get into it without shifting) all the way to 4500rpms. Very flat curve but only made 540. Just expected to see more power with less pw out of this setup.

I wouldn't worry about your dyno numbers. Weigh the truck then take it to the track and run it. Thats the best way to see what kind of power the truck is actually making.

I'm really hoping to be sub 12.5 And I think with a bit more fuel in the tuning its entirely possible.

Seems to do surprisingly well. Going to get another log this week with the 2700 and base the next tune on what we find there
