i did 6 consecutive dyno pulls and had a decent puddle coming from the rear cover a few months ago.

Is this just something up with your truck/build or do you think it's because of your HP level? I am getting ready to put my built motor in my truck, Tony PMed me the price, and I really don't want to pull this motor for a while again... Ughh, snowball effect...

Must be a puller problem, never heard of it drag racing. Nice piece however.

all of you who say you have never noticed this, have you ever mysteriously had your coolant level drop? remember all those threads (lb7/lly/lbz mysteriously losing coolant) and head gaskets turned out ok.

Makes me wonder now to as I don't have a built motor but had a sudden drop in coolant to trigger the DIC and then I filled it and never has done it again and HG's all are fine after having it looked at. I do have a hot coolant smell just every now and then after driving the truck too! Hmmmmmm?

I thought the normal Joe didn't have a problem, only big horsepower guys?
I just read in this thread mild power guys don't need this? Are you saying all those threads of the mysterious coolant leak were because of big horsepower and flex plate?

i am just saying that it is a possibility... i still have a stock rear cover and i only lose coolant after i hammer it hard pulling, racing, screwing around on the highway, or towing a super heavy load being retarded.....

if i drive normal i don't lose an ounce and i have absolutely no odor either ;)

just an observation on my part but i have paid attention to this on my truck and it fits perfectly.
