This is all being done on a relatively stock motor. It only has aftermarket rods and cut stock pistons. The intercooler is stock also. It is a very impressive setup and a true test of how much power a stock type duramax engine build can handle.

This trip to the track was done after the injector install and a trans refresh. There was an issue with the 2-1 downshift, so we tried a new TCM OS. It is shifting better, but still not perfect. The truck makes so much power, I'm sure it can run in the 10's all day long with some very minor tuning changes. The only problem is, I don't want to see the motor break. This is more power than anyone can expect for the stock internals. Kelly has been patient with the baby step process to be sure the truck can make it to this level. Now it is just a waiting game to see how long it will last.

Congrats to Kelly and everyone else that had a hand in building this truck. It has been a work in progress and each step of the process has made the truck better. It is nice seeing a group of enthusiasts put their heads together to get a truck to this level one step at a time. Like Montgomery Gentry says, "That's something to be proud of!":)

Vids were cool , get somre tires and you should pick up more than just in the 60 , Your launches were way soft and you should be able to pick up a few 10ths any way .

My 60's were 1.62, 1.64, 1.64, and 1.67. do you think drag radials would help that much.

Even if it didnt improve you 60 ft , if you were able to leave harder and be on top of the chargers more your 1/8 mile ET is going to improve , you already have the MPH , but need to get the 1/8 mile ET into the 6's . What RPM were you launching at maybe it just "looked " low ?

What are you calling "stock internals"? I don't want to start an argument here, but there isn't a whole lot more you can do to the internals to beef it up. The only possible upgrade would be forged pistons, but I haven't seen where they're all that much more reliable than a good set of cut and coated stock pistons. As far as I know, no one is changing the crank unless they are doing a stroker motor, and things like heads and cam won't increase the strength. They will only increase the efficiency or change the power band. Maybe I'm way off base, but I'm not following what you're saying.

Leaving at 2300 ish. But you are correct my et is low compared to my mph.
7.13 in the eighth is slow for a 10

I think all bob is saying is it's a pretty basic build. We put modified pistons, rods, balanced it and put it back together. I have however done what I can to keep rpm low (tall tires and 3.42 gears) and timing and duration down by going with the bigger injectors. There may come a day when I regret not doing heads, main studs and some of the other things people do. When I did the motor I figured 11.5 was it. but we all know how that goes.

i think youll be fine. at least i hope cause thats exactly what my motor build is. i dont think youll regret not doing main studs, jeff(stingpuller) doesnt have themand hes way deep in the 10's. good job on street tires by the way

But for $300 why not do the mains? Your already in it for 10 g's or better by that point anyhow.

But this is OT anyhow.

Which converter are you running Kelly?

Sounds like that converter is hooped to me.
Simon's 55 locks like a dream. Or maybe he doesn't have enough power to slip the converter yet.:D

Have heard of others saying the 1055 and 1058 doesn't like to lock early. Mike L might be able to give me his take. didn't Simon put in one of Braydens lockup controllers. I wouldn't care as much if my drive pressure and egt's didn't go so high before lockup.

Simon had issue's on a pass or 2 with it not locking and blowing through the converter untill 4th gear . hasnt got back out with the new controller yet , i left a reply in the lock up controller thread .

Shawn landed up flying down to Redding to drive Randy Cole's dodge to qualify for Boise. Here's the slip. I was by myself so no video. turns out the slip doesn't want to attach. anyone want to resize it.

Breakdown
1.67 60 ft. /had a best on the night of 1.62
[email protected] in the 1/8th / best on the night was 7.03 but not a big enough tune on the top end.
[email protected]

Figured out how to do it.
