1/8" crack in cylinder head filling injector cup. quick fix?

before i go through the bullshit of replacing the driver side head on my now, beater work truck, due to an 1/8" crack on the head around the #6 injector, that causes a slow leak of coolant into the injector cup and onto the ground, is there any harm in trying to jb weld it? if it doesnt work the head is shot anyways, so what would i have to loose?

my buddy jb welded the clutch linkage bracket on the housing on his Subaru back together, and that shit still holds, why couldnt it keep a little coolant from pissin out of a little crack?


PS: to all the actual, trained, and professional mechanics, dont hate my **** it mentality i really have no idea what i am doing, i just talk to girls and pretend like i do.

good call, then insurance wont know how rusty this truck and just look at the mileage and cut me a nice check for one of those subaru truck things, should tow my excavator and track loader nicely.

but no i cant own a subaru because i dont have the time to post 10 instagrams a day of my "stanced" car.:roflmao:

Pour a bottle of K-seal in it. I poured some in my lbz to get me through the winter over a year ago and its still holding. It was pouring out the passenger side head near the firewall and i needed to plow snow, its still holding.

could this damage any other parts of the cooling system?

i have literally replaced every fu*king peice of the cooling system because they all failed at some point or another. (oil cooler, water pump, head gaskets, lower rad hose, egr cooler was removed, etc)

Dont want to risk jeopardizing those investments.

It hasn't caused any crazy flaking or clogged up my heater core. The antifreeze still looks nice and orange also. You can see some of the flakes in the degass bottle but no hard residues. I wouldn't hesitate to try it myself if i used the truck locally. I'm not sure i would trust any quick fix if driving cross country.

yeah it wont even see 200 miles this next month so im just gonna hold off till middle of winter(if it comes) and just have the whole head replaced. I would love to try it myself but get nervous tearing into a project on a work truck when i have never torn the head off a duramax, or anything v8 by myself.


if anybody in southwestern ct, or anywhere western or southern ct for that matter knows a good guy to do the work please let me know!

Im in Wilton Ct. I live like 2 minutes from Norwalk Ct.

My dad's heavy equipment mechanic reccomended some guy in waterbury, and a buddy has a buddy who offered to get the truck back up and running for 4500 with 3 year warranty. Probably gonna go that route, but we would still like to pay less. truck already has studs in it.
