Video I saw looked like it might not have been under full power by the end of the track. It was peddled a lot.

Is the cage/frame of the car certified for the ET/mph? It sure seemed open around the driver?

It might weigh more than that, but 400hp is all you'd need at 2000lbs...

Them's some BIG paddles out back, too when they run sand. Tell ya what, I wouldnt want to be in the other lane against it, what with how it launches.

Ive sat in it, and the cage is pretty open. Its designed to seat two. I wouldnt really consider it "ok" for 9's....but the track let them run, so......

I asked Nick who works at Merchant he gave me the specs. Spoke to nick just now and they blew it up yesterday. However they should have a new engine in it today.

Raced Woodburn this last weekend, DA was from around 700 in the morning to 2300 in the late afternoon. Weather was suppose to be 100+ but was about 20 degree shy of that due to the cloud cover. Humidity was pretty high around 60% but the track was great, smooth and you could hook great.

Sounds good, I'm going to have Pliska drive this event.

With all due respect to Rob and Max'd Out, Brett's truck is probably the best-built Dmax drag race truck out there. Hooks HARD, launches straight, runs that fast and can make multiple passes at that time/mph without breakage.

Kudos to Brett and everyone involved. :thumb:

But its not a Duramax truck its a truck with a Duramax...

Well over a 2k lb weight difference you are comparing apples to oranges

Not really. Its much tougher to adapt a Dmax to another platform and make it perform as you want/expect it to.

Actually there is 1510 lbs difference. They are different class trucks. Rob has ran pro street before but can't complete at that level. Bretts truck is a pro street truck. Both are fine trucks and make rounds. I do believe Brett has a better setup. He has had less catastrophic failures at this point. You can't take anything away from either guys really. Both represent the dmax would very well.

Thanks guys!! Big thanks to Mark for coming to Illinois and helping me out. Mark turned it up a little more on the second run and I forgot to turn the lift pump back on. I wish the rain would have held out so we could have made a couple more passes. I will try and get a video up tomorrow.

From a thread over on CompD, I guess Idaho Rob was driving.
"Mechanical failure of some sort, went through its own oil...Rob did a great job of trying to save it. Didn't hit any of the chassis, just sheetmetal, so it actually looks worse than it is. New bumpers, trunk, fender, door, grille (all 'glass parts) and quarter, and should be good to go. Sounds like a lot of parts, but it could have been much worse. Both Rob and Russ were class acts on how they handled it. Car went 1.29 60ft and 5.70 in the 1/8th without much nitrous, so it was cookin."
