Has anyone ever seen a 1/4" checkball installed in the accumulator cups on a 5spd Allison? I have never seen this they dropped the balls inside the cup and then the springs?

They tightened up the spring pressure is all. The accumalators are there to balance the pressure for the A and B trim solenoids. Might be a good way to twist the splines of the C2 clutch hub.

Mike that 03 5spd truck that had the check balls in the accumulator got it back in with a P2 planet from Dave and updated it to a gen 4 drum. Shifts great 3-4 shift is a little softer then I like and has a slight flair at certain throttle openings. I wasn't able to fast learn this one with my tech 2. What's your recommendations truck is making 790 hp I just wanna get as many miles as possible and clear it up before I release it. I'm guessing this is because the taps are way off and mennot being able to set it to fast learn.

Good luck. Time to do some experimenting on what works and doesn't work.
Put the countless hours in like I did and if you're smart, you will be successful.:D

Yeah I have lots of time vested also just into multiple transmissions not nearly as much as you on the Allison. I'm going to put some more miles on it Monday. It got a set of your trim springs and ratiotek springs.A lot got changed from the setup it had. Been a long while since I had to drive learn one damn old trucks. Does the Allison doc software work well even on the earlier ones? I have personally noticed the older ones take longer to figure shit out.

Not trying to speak for Mike but I believe the software is plenty capable of adapting and learning to adapt on its own during a drive cycle. Mine is a 2001. Learned pretty quick I thought

Allison DOC does not work on our trucks beyond 2011. Tech 2 does not work beyond 2013. Need MDI after 2013.
