09 tcm question

I have an 09 lmm and it has the a50 tcm in it. U can't tune the a50 tcm so I was wondering if there is any way I can be able to run an a40 tcm so I will be able to tune it? I pull and want to be able to delete gears for pulling so I can get off of the line faster without defueling. Can you swap out tcm s and reprogram it to make it work? Or swap an 08 ECM and tcm to make it work? Or is the wiring harness different for the a50 tcm and I would have to swap the wiring harness out?

Just put in an 07.5-08' TCM. It will work fine.

I'd love to know that myself because I am in the same boat, however I don't know if the older TCM will work either.

Are you sure that will work and the hook ups are the same from both model tcms?

Yes it will work fine. I've put the TCM out of my 08' into "BLKLMM"s 09' truck before for the track. Works just fine.

Ok that is good to know. Just to make sure was the original tcm in the 09 an a50 model or an a40 cause the 09s where made with two different tcms?

He had an a50. Couldn't tune it with EFI, so we just dropped in the one from my 08.

Ok question for those that have done it, is there any efi live programming to make this work or do you just swap them and go, my dads truck is an 08 with an a40 tcm so can I just swap his for my a50 and be done or is there more to it?

Or am I better off getting a tcm and putting it in my truck?

I never drove with the A50 in my 08', but I can't imagine it being a problem.

I'm pretty sure you can tune 09 tcm now. When nick put a dsp 5 in mine he also tuned the tranny. He said efi just released it and that was back in august I believe
