So im changing my bed, inspecting the fuel sending unit, its definitely rusty, so while i have easy access i would like to change it. how do i know which one i need, seems like there are a bunch of different ones on rockauto.

Also, found this piece of metal, i dont inow where its from. seems like it was from the frame?

We ran your finger print through NCIS you may want to go into hiding ! That is a lot of rust, I was wondering if anyone ever used that brush on rust remover that just washes off with water and if so the results !

Drop the tank and clean behind it also

That’s a bed bolt but spacer. Goes on the bottom of the bed.
Its actually got like a full tank of fuel, and its not on the road, so I won't be able to drop the tank right now unfortunately.

Pretty sure if goes on the first bolt just behind the cab. We arent there, though. You'll figure it out.

So the bed bolt spacer I only found one of them, not sure how many I need.

Also if I order the above fuel sending unit from Rock auto, does it come with the gasket and clip/ring holder or do I need to buy those as well?

I just replaced mine, it was rusted completely through. I got the sending unit as well as a new lock ring from Napa. The unit came with the o ring.

I appreciate the help I got from the members here that helped me. But this information isn't performance related, so if mods can please delete the entire thread.

Thanks!
