Any recommendation on cheap shocks, or are they not worth it? I don't plan to do a lot of towing or plowing, probably not real truck stuff this thing is built for.

But in the odd case I may have to tow a boat one day or a single car trailer, any recommendations on shocks?

Thanks!

For a cheap(ish) shock that isn't total crap, I've had good luck with the Bilstein 5100s. They seem to hold up pretty well too.

Not to be a dick but shit use the search function or google. You’ve made more threads in two weeks than most do ever

Any new shock will be better than then worn out ones you have now

Well forums are dying, so would you rather I ask facebook?

I just bought a vehicle, if you look in the threads I have made it needs a lot of shit. Its practically a restoration project at this point. Some of the things I ask for I'm looking for more recent experiences, things change, new parts come out.

Trust me I didn't want to make the fuel filter thread, I did search but it wasn't working, I'm trying to buy shit right away so I didn't want to wait for the search to work again.

The last 2 posts (3 including this one), are useless for the topic at hand, so you want me to make less threads and search, but yet you post useless responses that don't help anyone?

There’s basically two favored shocks I’ve seen here. Bilstien 5100’s and Rancho 9000’s.

I have 5100’s and no complaints

You came on a performance board and asked about cheap shocks. You got several legit recommendations, but what we track here are performance options more than cheap options.

If you're not satisfied with the advice you get here, by all means ask Facebook.

If you search here, there's tons of good info on various products and how well they work for the price, but again, this is a performance board, so everything will be performance oriented more than price. If that's not what you need, there probably are better places for advice. And sometimes Facebook gets things right too, especially if it is mainstream.

This isnt a "performance only" board. i dont see performance in the title of the board. i see certain sections that are for performance in those sections.

Boards are places where people can get information and help each other.

I was given 2 answers and i asked a question about cheaper shocks and either no one had experience with them or maybe someone missed my post so i bumped the thread...

I mean whats worse having too many threads or like most boards are heading in the direction of facebook groups...

I understand asking stupid question about what oil etc, i know those are super commonly asked questions. i really try not to ask the dumbest questions but again it would be nice if members wouldnt say things to push people away from boards like this.

This is 100% a performance board. You don't like it go to duramaxforum.com they will answer every single question you have and I'm not kidding.

The best part is WE DID HELP YOU. Despite it not being what we really like to discuss, you got several good options for cheap shocks, including from me. But somehow that wasn't enough, or fast enough, and we felt rubbed the wrong way.

We love the sport, and we love these trucks, and are more than willing to help someone keep one on the road and make it better, but you have to put in some effort too, and show us you care. We're not going to spoon-feed you everything, especially if we feel we are being used. We are humans too, taking time away from our hobbies, friends, and family to post on here, because we love helping people do new things with the sport, and watching it evolve.

Take the advice with some decorum, and heck, simply tell us how the cheap Monroe shocks work out for you. Contributing isn't some crazy thing requiring a race team. But help works both ways.
