Hi guys I'm new to this forum. I'm looking for some help. I have a 09 Chevy 2500hd that won't go in to gear. If I keep shifting from reverse to drive eventually it will go in to gear. When I shift in to reverse the reverse lights do not come on. I had 4 codes P0848, P0751,P0761,P0762. I also get a shift range inhibited on the display then the gear indicator will flash.

Not to be that guy but literally everything. If you look at guys' signatures it tells a story. Are we looking at a bone stock truck or a monster. Anything you or anyone else has touched with the trans. How long you've had it. If it's had any gremlins leading to this. This forum has a wealth of knowledge, check out some of the posts with your codes and it will give you an idea too what people need to help you t shoot.

It's has a live efi, fast 150 lift pump, Danville 68mm vgt turbo, egr blocker plate, pcv reroute kit, 4 inch exhaust. Nothing has been done to the Trans except regular maintenance. Problem just started never had an issue. The other day it when in to gear moved it forward and backwards about 15 times with no issue shut the truck off. Started it back up and had nothing again.

Sounds like the truck probably makes to much power for a stock transmission. I'd say something is letting go inside and causing your issues.

Does it only do it first thing in the morning? After that is it fine? Did you check the fluid level?

It does it whenever it wants to like it has a mind of its own. Yes I checked the fluid it's fine.
What I don't understand is why the reverse lights are now coming on when I shift in to reverse. Acts like it's not registering that it's in reverse. But when it does engage into gear then the reverse light will come on.

Have you driven the truck hard? Rolling burnouts? IF your fluid level is fine, you may have an actual clutch issue.

Well as an outsider looking in, dont ground your tcm. First i would see if you could swap one with a buddy/barrow one first. Tcm is a little spendy so before you possibly do some damage to it just swap it out. Not saying anyone is wrong but i would hate to see some one possibly cause damage.

All of the 5 speed TCMs say "do not ground". It's cast right into the case. I've never actually tried it, but I've been told by several people that grounding the case of a 5 speed TCM will fry it. Not sure about the 6 speed TCM, but I wouldn't try it personally.

Look pal. Who in the **** do you think you are? The tcm has isolators suspending it off the chassis. It has stickers all over it saying do not ground. Every video ive seen says do not ground. The only reason you ground a tcm is if you know its fried and thats a hail marry to save your ass. On this forum numerous people here have said dont ground it. So before you bite my head off being an asshole i think maybe you should read a manual or something. So silence you dick beaters and chill out.
