There is a guy down here whos ccsb 4x4 07 LMM, with 37k on it, lost oil pressure. He had a tuner on it and gm won't warranty it and he can't afford to fix it. He says he got it shut down as soon as it lost pressure and it wasn't knocking or anything. Just wondering what it might be worth or how major the damage is.

I was wondering that too but, he says gm hooked up a manual guage? He has it partially tore down, then he gave up. I was wondering about getting an oil sample and just seeing what it said. I wish I could crank it over and see what it did. Where would be the best place to hook up a manual guage? Worse case scenario......New crank and bearings?

OHM the pressure sensor out first. Then you could hook up a gauge on the driver side of the block in the main oil galley. The thread pitch should be a M14x1.5 in the oil galley plugs.

Where is the oil pump on these motors? I guess it has to come out to check the oil pump? How is it driven?

PPE Extreme. Yes he took if off but, they checked his calibrations and found out he had been tuned. He had guages and all though.

The dealer needs to prove the modification caused the failure. An electronic programmer will not cause a loss of mechanical oil pressure. No way no how. I would be going back to the dealer, perhaps with a lawyer.

If he had a internal part failure, sure as shit a tuner can cause it. PPE Hot +2, you know before you flash that tune in that you better be ready to pay to play. Says it in the manual now about ANY tuner.

Well looks like he waited too long anyway. I know souping your truck up causes problems, blown headgaskets, trans and rearend problems, bent rods, cracked or melted pistons etc., sure, but no oil pressure????

I guess if I cranked it over and the front balancer doesn't move it also wouldn't have any oil psi.

Ok I went and pulled the oil sender and glow plugs today. I cranked it over and no oil:(
I pulled an oil sample. I'm going to see what it says. I was thinking about pulling the front timing cover and see if the oil pump look good:confused: Any Ideas?

Why did you pull the glow plugs? I would pull the engine and get it on a stand so you can really see what's going on since you obviously don't have oil pressure. Are you looking to buy the truck or what's the scoop with it sitting so long before looking at it?
