07-14 stock aluminum wheels on 2003 Duramax

Picked up a set of aluminum wheels / tires off an 09 Duramax for $240 with plenty of tread left! They fit and feel great, the extra width over my stock classic wheels noticeably improves drivability. Looking at buying the correct center caps for the 07-14 wheels, I heard there was a lug nut adapter (?) to run these specific center caps on my classic Duramax. (classic center caps will not work with these updated wheels, although both sets of wheels are 8x6.5). Does anyone know what's needed, if anything, to run the updated caps? thank you

Why do I keep doing this?

I believe you had to trim the little stands/tabs off the older caps base to get enough distance for the lugs to grab the threads

I put the newer caps on h2 wheels with the stock lug nuts on my ‘04 so might just go right on.

That is what I am thinking.

I also saw some new center caps on PYOs yesterday on Facebook. Think I might need to get some of those myself

@johnmyster Ew, how about some 17" Ram forged wheels?

My buddy is actually running a set of these right now on his OBS GMC Sierra 2500 with a 350 and they look incredibly sexy.

I like those ram 17" wheels but I was after 18" for tire selections with additional load capacity. I always figured the 18" steels looked a good bit like the 16" steels that came on some of the duramax trucks. Stealth custom.

In either case, much better than the alloy 18" bundt cake ram wheels with the giant cone protruding in the middle.
