Thank you for all the info and helping me better understand all of this!!! And thanks for giving me some things to try. Very much appreciated.



Here is what I'm currently hoping, VATS is enabled and is locking me out from accessing the ECM. And the reason it won't crank is because it is in between tunes. Seem legit or snow balls chance in hell?

I should have taken a picture of the message it gave me on the computer. Can't remember exactly. Been a long weekend with little sleep trying to get my truck running again.

And no I did not try that.

Everything is up to date on mine as far I can tell.


Tried to do the Efi tune and stock tune via full tune and both show me this.

7.5 won't flash tunes anymore. Editing is done on 7.5. You can not view or edit the tune Rob sent you so that is why you get that message.

Your ecm is bricked, it wont talk to anything but a tech II now. Your gonna have to have it towed to a dealer for a full reflash. Should cost about 150 bucks max. This kind of thing happens sometimes when flashing trucks, its no ones fault, thats why they tell you to do it in a safe convient to work in area. I've been thru it and so have most of the guys on here...

Hmm okay. I'll call my 2 friends that are the heavy line techs and see if they can bring one home for me. When I spoke with him on Saturday he said as long as I have wifi where the truck is sitting he should be able to get into it. Being "bricked" is different from being fried?

There is a trick I have used on LLY's that I stumbled across... Do the following

Key in the run position
Open hood
Remove cover to the fuse box located by the engine
Using the diagram on the picture on the underside of the fuse box locate the ECM or PCM fuse
Remove the fuse wait a second then reinstall the fuse
Remember make sure you keep the key in the run position
Now turn the key off
Turn the key to the run position again
Attempt to reflash the ECM again
It may work as it has saved my ass on 4 occasions during a failed full flash

Thanks I will try that when I get home!

Called ATP this morning and spoke with someone else. Had me send in my stock file to convert it and try and flash it back to the truck. They also said to pull radio, radio amp, info, and abs fuses and leave them out while I attempt the flash. So I'll try that hopefully tonight if they get the stock file back to me by then.

Ive tried to reflash thru my wifi and a techII. I failed bc of firewalls and securtity keys on the laptop and in GM Global, if your guys can get it done thats definitely the best route. It sure helps to know guys with the knowledge and the know how to use the proper tools with these trucks...

Hasn't been an option up to this point. They have been closed at the times I have been able to work on it. If I can't get it running tonight when I get home from work, then I'll take tomorrow off so that I can try that. Good suggestion I wouldn't have thought to do that!

Hopefully I'll have some better luck if I end up needing to go that route. ATP seems to think the fuses pulled and trying to flash the stock tune will work though. We shall see...

Do you have aftermarket anything? Radio? Alarm? Etc? If you don't I doubt pulling fuses will help unfortunately.
