Not sure if I worded the title right but how much power will an 06 lly make on efi with only intake/exhaust? I see different number but wasn't sure because of the lly tuning on an lbz motor how the gains are measured. I ask this because I've been looking at clutches and what they are rated for. I learned my lesson on my trailblazer to make sure other things can hold the power before you make it.

Thanks
Jay

Yes, may be a little more as you're only 2wd also. A lift pump is always a good idea in my opinion.

Well being your a zf equipped truck your drivetrain lost will be a lot less than a alli truck. Lly 06 programming made 310hp while the LBZ programming made 360 regardless of auto/manual trans intake usually net the most hp while the exhaust has been proven to only slightly improve hp if any mostly seat-o-pants meter seems faster with exhaust. My guess is with factory clutch 400hp or a lil more max but that's pushing the limits of glazing it. Your probably looking at a dual disc clutch rated at 650-700 but stock fuel will be your limiting factor to the tune of 500 or more give or take being your loss is minute compared to an alli lost hope this helps correct me if I'm to high on the stock clutch

Not true. An 06 zf was detuned even more. I have dynoed 3 of them now at Danville. Mark said they were detuned do to the dual mass fly wheel. I have one tune in my truck which made 403 to the rear wheels. On my old 06 zf it made 538 max effort with a lift pump. A factory clutch can barley handle itself with no tune. Don't bother with a single disk. Buddy has one on tow tune and it made it about a month before slipping. That was only pulling trailers.

In my research a LLY with Lbz MP, intake, exhaust, and stock tranny safe max effort tuning can barly make 500hp to the rear wheels... Correct me if I'm wrong?

Detuned to 310 or less?

What's stock rear wheel on one? Is there a percentage you use to find rwhp from fwhp?

He is talking about an 06 LLY. Samething as an LBZ. Same motor and all. Just detuned. But the zf's are detuned even more

This is were I get confused. Do I have the lbz mouth piece being an 06? I also wonder about the head gaskets?

I find a bunch of mixed info for the 06 lly on the google machine

I will have to look but I think they all made about 270 on average to the wheels. That was factory everything

Ok to help the op out since he has 06 lly basically a LBZ could he have a factory LBZ tune flashed in and then build hp for there? I did that on a buddy of mines truck had a 06 lly alli and I tuned it to LBZ factory tune and then we put my old banks six gun PDA on top of that and it ran flawlessly just curious

Well I don't really have any numbers on a factory 06 LLY. But it being a zf you should have minimal lose in hp to the wheels. Just what mark told me from Danville. He acted shocked that it was only 270ish

I'm shocked to that it made less usually manuals make more than allis sry to the op for derailing your thread you should have the LBZ mouthpiece already in there you basically have a LBZ just programming is different that's the only thing different everything else is the same

I don't think that is bad for just 310 hp. My trailblazer lost lil over a 100hp through the drive train if you calculate it at 20% which is the going rate for one.

If you call that derailing by all means keep doing it.

Your truck is the same as an LBZ except the tune in the ECM.
