If I buy an bcm out of another 06 to go into my 06. Does it have to have all the same options as mine? Or does refreshing it set it to my options?

unfortunately not that easy. BCMs are one of the few devices that need to be called in to techline and get a dealer auth code to flash..... ecm, tcm, radios etc dont but bcm does unfortunately.

I'm not 100% sure it's the bcm but it all leads towards it. The only door that shuts the lights and radio off after you shut the truck off is the passenger door, the back doors don't turn the lights on when you open the door and my steering controls work but none of them light up also the batteries die if it sets for 5 days or so. This all started when I had an aftermarket alarm remote start installed which I had removed thinkin that was it but it didn't fix anything.

If the bcm has the same options as in your truck you can just do a bcm relearn.

Lights burning out in the steering wheel controls is normal. Sadly.

The rest sound like a Class2 communication problem, not necessarily the BCM itself. Could be a problem with the wiring within the data link system between the doors. I would be looking at the wires that the remote start was attached to. A lot of those alarms use scotchlocks to make their connections, and those things can cut the wires within the wire sheathing.

That doesn't sound fun. It's all up under the dash lol

Thats cause the BCM is locked after I think 6 key cycles. Ive heard there is a backdoor to unlock it. :thumb:
