So for almost 10 years I've wanted to build a regular cab short bed duramax, but could never find the right truck for the right price. Well it finally happened this year. Found a completely stock 2005 Silverado 2500hd WT with a utility bed on it and 117k for $7500.
I traded the utility bed for a regular long bed for the time being and threw on some new style 20" Denali wheels that are 8x6.5 instead of the new 8x180 or whatever it is.
Bought the truck and within a week, everything started falling in place. A buddy ended up having a 04 crew cab short bed that he was parting out so I scored a color matching bed, and interior from him for cheap. And I found the only lly short bed fuel tank in Alaska for $140. Then the waiting game started while my buddy finished his shop. Once the shop was done, we wasted no time.
while we were here, I put on McGaughys lowering spring hangers and 4" rear drop shackles and McGaughys drop spindles up front
Used 4" MBRP exhaust
And this beauty is the final outcome after 15 hours in the shop... :happydance:
Overall came out to about a 4/6 drop, still need to c-notch the frame so I can run bags.
