Well still making almost zero progress. I did pick up the frame I'm going to be using (02 2500HD gas) for the build over the past weekend from a gentleman in Iowa. I'll be using the frame, front clip, and probably bedsides as I would like this truck to be 01-02 front end as it's my favorite and also matches my tow-rig.
DHD also has asked me if I'd be interested in helping develop their Duramax to 4R100 conversion billet rear engine covers so of course I said yes. They will be picking up my 4R100 core tomorrow (gas case) to get that ball rolling. I also have a full comp build on order with Brian at Brian's Truck Shop that should take the power (they're proven to the ~2k mark pretty reliably). I will be using a Fluidyne DB-30613-S11 as the main transmission cooler (if it needs more I'll add a second one), Derale 65861 as an engine oil cooler, and a Derale 15850 as a fuel cooler before it heads to the 20gal Rhodes fuel cell.
I also decided to try some different manifolds/up-pipes (I've had absolutely zero issues with Rick @ ProFab's cast manifolds/up-pipes but figured I'd try something a little different). HSP has been great to work with in the past and has assured me that if there are any issues with this set we will figure out the root cause and get the design figured out to not fail in that manner again.
I am still waiting on the 8.50 pre-bent cage from Firepunk as they're having a hard time getting Docol R8 tubing. I'll be calling them tomorrow to see if that also applies to Chromoly as well or just Docol. I will be making my own driver seat mount and using a Corbeu FX1 wide for a race seat along with their harnesses. I will be installing a Firebottle AMRC-1002 for safety as well as welding all the holes in the firewall solid and installing a PPE firewall insulator just for good measure.
The truck will also be going from a Fuelab setup to a FASS performance series (more on that once they're available and in my hands) as well as going to a single Industrial Injection XP series pump to help simplify the plumbing as well as remove anything from the belt that I can. It'll be nice knowing that if I toss a belt mid-pass or mid dyno pull I will not drop power due to only running the one pump.
