I love it when parts show up :) Kennedy twin pumps, billet tank pick-up, and his Mega filter kit.

Lines. I already had the steel braided section since I shortened the factory hard lines.

Fuel sender changes. The large line on the right used to be the tank vent, and is now the feed line. I swapped the tank vent over to the original smaller feed line.

Kennedy's control harness is pretty slick. The main control box mounts under the hood. It has a momentary button on it for manual pump activation, which is really handy when bleeding fuel filters. No more pumping the stock filter head to prime everything. It also has an ignition on sense wire that runs the pumps for a few seconds when the ignition is first switched to run, much like the gas vehicles do. The main on/off switch actually comes from an oil pressure sensor, so the fuel pumps will only run when the engine is actually on.

Have you kept an eye on mpg? I saw you posted mpg early on but it seemed like you might have swapped to taller gears since then. Just curious.

If I could get 25-30mpg on the interstate I'd be thinking about this closer now since my Jetta TDI got totaled. I just REALLY want to have a truck to DD but I really want it to get 30mpg or as close as possible.

What kind of sites did you search on to find that donor truck? I have about 0 luck finding stuff like that.

I've been getting about 17 with "spirited" driving in town, 19ish with normal driving, and got 21 on the highway when I drove to LA to have Mike build the trans. I keep it on the race tune all the time. I was hoping for a little better but I'm not disappointed.

I was watching IAAI and Copart. Ended up getting it from an IAAI auction in Houston. Use a broker, cost me a hundred or two for their fees I think but was totally worth it.

I tried looking at local auctions only but wasn't seeing anything decent, so I expanded my search range. Houston was about an 18 hour drive each way when I was living near Denver.

Dang, I figured it'd get much better than that! Shoot, I was really hoping it'd be 25+ so I could try to justify doing something similar for a DDer now that my TDI got totaled. That's no better than my 02 tho so that won't cut it.

Damn, guess I'll just drool over yours & keep dreaming. :)

That's my favorite part with mine. I show up with a RCSB with 8 lug axles and a Quadrasteer bed on a jobsite with a Class V hitch and just about everytime I have someone ask me about it or just stare at it wondering WTF is going on. Then if they get close they hear it's a Duramax even though its quiet (3" downpipe, 4" frontpipe into stock muffler) and then they really scratch their heads.

That sounds hilarious
