I have the edge cts proformance chip on my truck. It’s was on extreme level 4 for alittle but now it’s on economy level 1. My truck has no loss in power and runs great but will blow black smoke when it’s given more than half throttle. It’ll pour black smoke if I mash it or I am towning something. IS this because of a bad tune? I’ve had bad luck with my edge, as of now I can’t re program my truck without the chip giving me errors. Long story short I don’t recommend it. Could failing injector(s) be causing this or something else? Beside my programmer

TX of course
How could I️ verify that
There are other threads about it, but you have to unhook the intake piping after the turbo. Find a way to plug it and pressurize it. Then listen for leaks if you can't hear anything you need to spray all the connections with soapy water and look for bubbles.

If it's smoking that badly the boost leak would be severe enough to hear it easily.

My bet is on a stick open EGR valve. Or a stuck turbo unison ring.

I would say it's part of the tune.

I had mine reflashed and recently stopped using fuel additive. With the additive, I noticed it seemed to smoke more under heavy throttle situations.

Having it reflashed from the dealer and resetting the adaptive controls insure there was no trace from an old tuner.

Take a close look at your Y Bridge and make sure it is still together. I blew the inlet pipe out of mine and it would smoke bad on big throttle inputs.
