02 LB7 U joint replacement?

My friend has a 2002 duramax with 127,000 miles on it. It has a vibration when you are accelerating around 35-40 mph and when slowing down from from 35-40 mph. My only thought is that it needs U joints? What else could it be? It is a crew cab short box. Just normal driving, not pulling anything. The truck is 100% bone stock.

Pretty good chance it does need u-joints.

I had a pretty bad carrier bearing on my 01. Not sure if his is 2 piece or not. And it vibrated

Sounds like a U-joint

Mine had an vibration at an certain speed like that and it was the transmission mount. wasnt broke just had stress cracks in it. new one had more rubber. I also did Ujoints cant hurt. But it was the mount for me.

It is a 2 piece drive shaft and the carrier was shot. Anyone know why they would put a 2 piece drive shaft in a short box truck? Can we put a 1 piece in it?
