For those that don't know the wrist pins are not centered in the pistons but rather have a small offset to eliminate some of the side thrust. This is why many motors have left and right hand pistons. I am assuming the D-Max is this way and thats why there are -->'s
also I think its because of the orientation/side of the oil cooling channels on the pistons. If you put a right piston on the left side the oil squirter doesnt squirt into the hole in the piston.

If you put them upside down the squirter isn't lined up with the right hole in the piston (the in is larger than the out).
I don't think forged pistons do, but I've never seen any in person so I can't be sure.Do after market pistons have provisions for oiling?
